Letter of Introduction from Miss G

Dear Parents/Guardians of Grade 3M,

My name is Miss Guilbeau or as my students like to call me, Miss G!  I will be your child’s teacher for the remainder of the 2018/2019 school year!  Mrs. Vukovic has been so helpful to me these past two weeks preparing me with the class material that they have covered thus far in the school year and helping me get to know all your wonderful children.  I am very excited to have the opportunity to help them finish off the rest of their grade 3 year and get them ready for grade 4! Here is a little background information on myself.

I was born and raised right here in Fort McMurray and grew up in Timberlea.  I danced at Generation Dance Studio and trained in gymnastics at Norfort Gymnastics Club, later moving on to teach for both.  After graduating from Father Mercredi High School, I knew that the only career I wanted was to be a teacher. I went on to complete my Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta, teaching grade 2 in my first practicum at St. Teresa of Calcutta and grade 4 for my last practicum at Pine Street Elementary.

Just from that little move from Fort McMurray to Edmonton to complete my university degree, it sparked my interest in travel and education and I couldn’t wait to explore the world.  As soon as I graduated I sought out opportunities to teach overseas and ended up teaching grade 3 in Bristol, United Kingdom. Spending some time over there and working in a whole new country really inspired me to come back to Canada and implement what I learned in education and as a teacher back in my hometown.

It is very exciting to have the opportunity to work with Walter and Gladys Hill Public School and to get to know your child, helping them succeed in the rest of their academic year!  I am incredibly passionate about hands on education and learning through exploration, and I know we will have a fun-filled rest of the year together! I hope to meet you all at the upcoming parent/teacher interviews so we can support your child’s learning together.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at kennedy.guilbeau@fmpsd.ab.ca or on Mrs. V’s remind if you have questions or concerns!

Sincerely,

Miss Guilbeau
